Today, as we prepare to offer it for sale, we would like to share a little of its story—and explain why a home that means so much to us is ready to welcome someone new.Our family’s account of the house begins towards the end of the Second World War, when it was built. We were told that difficulties arose during its construction, and that help from Luang Por Lee made it possible for the work to continue. Another story passed down through our family tells of an Australian ambassador who stayed here shortly after the house was completed.These stories have stayed with us, becoming part of how we know and remember the place.Within the same enclosed grounds stand two houses, surrounded by mature trees. Their shade softens the sunlight that reaches the buildings, giving the property a leafy setting close to the main roads of Bangkok.The smaller house is a two-storey residence with approximately 144 square metres of usable floor area. It has been renovated, with particular attention given to the roof and the electrical system inside.The larger house holds much of our family’s shared history. Its interiors feature extensive woodwork, with sturdy timber and wooden furniture that still retains its polished sheen. For someone who appreciates older homes, there is much here to notice: the materials, the details, and the character that develops when a house has been lived in and cared for over many years.When our grandparents were alive, several family members lived here together. They also held Buddhist house-blessing and merit-making ceremonies quite often. These were occasions when relatives gathered, shared in the blessings, and spent time together.Among the revered monks who visited were Luang Por Uttama and Luang Por Koon.For our family, the meaning of those occasions lives in the memory of everyone being present. Our grandparents were there. Relatives came together. The house became a gathering place for faith, gratitude, and family ties.After our grandparents passed away, life gradually took everyone in different directions. None of the remaining family members was a disciple of any particular monk, but we continued to make merit in the customary way. The tradition remained, even as family life changed.Over time, each person established a household of their own. Children grew up, and the next generation began following paths beyond the family home.That is how we came to the decision to sell.It was a decision made with affection for this place, and with an understanding that all of us are now living a different chapter of our lives. Familiar surroundings can bring great comfort. They can also make us miss the people who once filled them.We want to carry the good memories forward with warmth.In our hearts, this home has fulfilled the purpose our grandparents hoped it would serve. It gave the family a place to live, to gather, and to grow. Their care helped each of us reach a point where we could build a life of our own.Now, all the heirs have agreed that it is time to offer the houses and land together to a new owner.The property occupies 224 square wah, or 896 square metres, in the Sutthisan area, near Vibhavadi Rangsit Road. Hospitals, local amenities, and main transport routes are nearby.
